Reaction to Ep 3 (Spoilers... DUH!)

For those of you staying away until things get better, this is the episode to miss.  Things are really falling apart between Connor and Abby, but next week is the bug episode so hopefully Connor will catch a clue and stop acting like a dumbass.  I mean, for a genius, how the hell can he not see that he's being played.  It still strikes me as incredibly out of character.  I don't really care that its "canon".  It's not Connor.  He's just not normally that distant or that dismissive of Abby.  Total BS!  Really.  Sure, he's stayed and worked long hours before, but he always deferred to at least give Abby some time.  Now that they're a proper couple, I just don't by it at all.  

And don't even get me started on April.  What.  A.  Bi-otch!  God, her few little scenes were enough to make me want to slap her myself.  If she does get eaten by the Pterosaurs, I think I might start squeeing.  Stupid interfering bitch.  GAH!  It probably would have been better if Abby had just gone in and talked to him, but because of April, they're now both hiding things.  I don't blame Abby at all on this one.  If I'd have been there I'd have responded exactly the same way.  March straight down to Jess and get access to stuff I'm not.  It really is for his own good.  I just hope he sees it that way when he finds out, which I think is supposed to be next week.  

I did love what he said about Abby to April though, the "what you see is what you get," line.  Although, it probably made Abby feel like a heel since she was spying on him at the time.  LOL!  

As much as I normally don't care about Emily, I think I like having her back.  She's a good pair with Matt.  There was also a really cute little reunion with Emily and Jess.  Very lovely.  The whole bit in Victorian London was cool and Emily looked totally bad-ass!  Her husband on the other hand is a total douche.  A really piece of work.  All he cares about is himself.  What a tool.  So, as his character goes, that was fitting.  I liked seeing Matt squirm a bit when Merchant had the gun on him.  I'm just not sure how one misses seeing the giant reptile on the ground.  All they had to do was point to that, but I guess he was so blinded by his own rage or maybe his one track mind that me missed the giant raptor in the room.  

Oh, and then OMG! Connor made an anomaly.  Bad Connor!  No cookie (or nookie) for you.  If you're going to have major scientific breakthroughs, you need Abby by your side.  Not that twit April.  Plus, HELLLOOOOOO, you're supposed to be trying to figure out how they work and STOP them, not create them.  GAH!  

A really great episode overall, but I don't think I'll be able to appreciate it until Abby and Connor are back together properly.   Then it'll probably be one of my favorites.  Great acting on all sides here.  They really played up the tension and did it well.  So that's my thoughts on this ep.  :-)

Oh, I see you cut it, I must have caught it at the exact moment you posted. I do that all the time. Post and then realise I forgot to do the cut hehe. :)

I have to agree a little with the Connor thing. Don't get me wrong, I'm loving the whole angst story line, and they're playing it brilliantly, but Connor not even giving Abby the benefit of the doubt seems off. He's obviously been blinded by science hehe. Ugh don't even get me started on April. That annoying accent is just ugh! I actually think her part wasn't needed and is a little too cliche.

LOL! Yep! That's exactly what I did. I was like, OH CRAP, I forgot the cut. Edit edit edit. LOL!

They are doing a brilliant job playing it, but it just seems like two big a change, almost from the get go with season 4/5. I remember making the same observation a while back and it still seems true to me. The writing of Connor seems out of character this season. We have our moments with him, and they are lovely, but something is off. That really is a good way to put it. It just seems off.

April is a total cliche and completely not necessary, especially since I'm pretty certain they're just going to kill her off. Pointless.

I have zero self control. LOL!!!!!!! That's why I had it downloaded and watched in less than two hours from the time it ended in the UK. Hehehehehehe. It was a really good episode. I couldn't resist Victorian England. :-D There's an awesome scene where Matt gets held hostage for a bit. Great stuff. :-)
